How it all started
The creation of two dedicated and passionate event managers, Events by Heidi & Kate was formed in 2010 by Kate Barnes and Heidi Plucknett. With a shared love of all things events, Heidi & Kate have been delivering stylish, contemporary celebrations throughout NSW for more than three years and have had lots of fun doing it!
The here and now
The goal is fun, fabulous and festive weddings and parties. These days, Kate’s at the helm and she’s busily curating a unique selection of hire products suitable for a range of different occasions. It’s all about the sparkle!
Born and raised in Newcastle, Kate moved to Sydney to study hospitality and worked in some of the city’s best 5-star hotels. Listening to that niggling desire to see the world, she packed up and hot-footed it to London for 6 months, just to give it a try. More than 6 years later, and with a ton of in-house events experience under her belt, she returned home with two goals: to study event management and start a business. The latter took a little longer than expected, but she’s super glad it eventually did! When not working, Kate loves playing with her puppy dogs, catching up with friends over a chai latte or reading a good book. That’s if you can tear her away from Vogue Living, countless bridal mags and design blogs!
